Rules and policies

We want to create the most beneficial working environment for a nice cooperative, succesfull and entrepreneurial atmosphere.

Therefore, we need to bear in mind also safety and protection rules and measures:

• All volunteers are participating mandatory in the training- and evaluation cycle of the National Agency of the ESC programme JINT.
• We will provide an induction
• We have policies from Kiwanis International about youth protection (https://www.kiwanis.org/who-we-are/youth-protection/)
• We have policies from the Ghent office about working environment (no smoking policy in the office, free use of internet with safety measures for hoaxes and phising,…).
• Similar as the rest of the staff, ESC’ers will also mandatory need to enroll in online training that will be provided by Kiwanis International about cybersecurity and protection of data.
• Similar as the rest of the staff, and volunteer leaders, ESC’ers will also mandatory need to have a background check (a certificate of non-criminal activities, of good behaviour and conduct)
• We will provide task-related support, learning support and organized reflection moments, assessment of competences and challenges participants would like to take in the learning
• There is the possibility for ESC’ers to have a personal project as motivational factor.
• We will appoint also an independent external mentor (ex-evs’er).
• In cases of difficulties, we have the monthly conversations to talk about the learning progress, well-being, but also difficulties that occur. Staff is available at any time for extra meetings.
