Solidarity

  • A Belgian club that organizes a food festival with mussels and French fries, where the profit is being donated to finance a playground of a special education school of children facing obstacles.
  • Icelandic clubs that donate all kids on the whole island with (free) safety bicycle helmets.
  • A Romanian club that supports the children hospital’s department in modernization of materials.
  • An Italian club that has developed a cartoon book designed for children to talk about autism. The Varese club funded and distributed this book to 6500 teachers, who use the book to talk about behavioral differences among classmates.
  • A club that brews its own beer, holds a beer event for the whole village, and with the profit, it supports financially diverse social goals, for example an organisations that provides children that have cancer with a wick.
  • A European project “happy child” that aims to improve the situation of refugee children from Syria in Europe. Not immediately the idea or prejudice you might have from a service club organisation, but it is the main European project of Kiwanis in Europe, that we have, in cooperation with SOS Children Villages.
  • In a world-wide project, “The Eliminate Project”, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus—a deadly disease that steals the lives of nearly 31,000 babies and a significant number of women each year.

The list is endless, and with millions of hours of service, and millions of donations, Kiwanis clubs and members support children and children activities throughout the community — changing the world, one child at a time.

The stronger the European office can support our districts, nations, divisions, and clubs, the more community impact we have, the better our clubs and members are able to serve the children.
